Hello! I'm thrilled you've stopped by my website. As an educator who has called China home for the past decade, I hope students, parents, and visitors find something helpful here.

I'm Chris, currently serving as High School Principal at Beijing Tongzhou Shuren Private School. My passion for international education first brought me to East Asia in 2009. I spent three wonderful years as Head Instructor at the Chae Language Institute in South Korea.

Eager to deepen my teaching skills, I returned stateside to pursue a Master of Science in Education at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in intercultural communication. Equipped with new knowledge, I returned to Asia as Director of Teachers at Northeast Yucai School in Shenyang. In 2018, I became a founding principal of Hübschmann Zhan International School in Shenyang.

 

These days, I'm splitting time between school leadership and PhD studies at University College London, researching the experiences of early Chinese students in America.
